Hair & Make Up

Professional hair and makeup is included in every senior session. Why? Because having professional hair and makeup can help boost your confidence and alleviate the stress of getting ready.

Our Goal:

To make sure that you feel confident and love the way you look!

How to prep for your glam session

  • Exfoliate with a physical exfoliator at least 2 days prior to your application session. It will help reduce dry patches and texturing.

  • Wash your face thoroughly before your session and apply a hydrating moisturizer. The foundation with apply more evenly if your face is prepped and ready before any color is applied.

  • If you wear contacts, be sure to have them in prior to your session.

  • Be sure to wear a loose light colored shirt with a large neck-hole or a button up for easy removal after your session.

  • Be sure to get a good night’s rest prior to your appointment.

  • Drink PLENTY of water.

  • Bring pictures of styles that you are comfortable with. The artist may make suggestions, however, you are the one who needs to feel beautiful and pictures are a great indicator of your preference.

  • Lastly, trust your artist. Remaining calm and steady when products are being applied near your eyes is crucial. Twitching and squirming often causes errors. When you seem confident and collected it helps the artist focus on the task to ensure a stunning finish.

What To Expect

Steffanie, my hair and makeup artist, will arrive at your home with plenty of time before our session. Plan for two to three hours for hair and makeup…this day is all about you!!!

I always suggest looking for hair and makeup inspiration on Pinterest and having those images ready to share with Steffanie. You can also view her website here to see her previous clients:  *Artistry by Steffanie*

There are two main looks that I recommend choosing between; which of course depends on your style and personality! You can have the full glam makeup or something more natural. It is completely up to you and what you prefer! Either way you are going to look absolutely amazing!!!

As someone who rarely has her makeup done professionally I can tell you that it might feel heavy to you at first. This is completely normal; the makeup is applied to help your features pop and stand out on camera.

BUT if you are not happy with the way it looks please do not hesitate to let either Steffanie or myself know so that she can fix it!

Meet Your Make Up Artist

Steffanie

Steffanie is a formally trained makeup artist with a certification from Make Up Designory (MUD Cosmetics NYC Campus) in Beauty Artistry, MAC Cosmetics trained artist, and a Facial Specialist license from the State of Florida.

In February of 2007, at the age of 18, Steffanie boarded a plane alone with a giant suitcase headed for the Big Apple.

She moved alone to the big city to take on her first adventure- attending Make Up Designory on Broadway for their beauty artistry course. She took a cab to her new home- a studio apartment in a high rise on W37 and 9th.

It was then that she truly fell in love with the art of makeup.

Few things are as transformative, uplifting, or impactful as makeup is when it’s done well.

You can view Steffanie’s website to see more of her work and more inspiration!
