This was the first extended family session I’ve ever done…and I want to be 100% honest here. I was terrified. I’ve always been socially awkward in groups…I don’t really offer wedding photography because of the social anxiety I have. But at the same time, as a family photographer, I know how important and meaningful extended family sessions are.

This session was a celebration of the parent’s anniversary so all of their children were in town from out of state. These are such special memories for them and such a rare occasion considering they live in different states. So I put aside my anxiety and I am so glad I did. They were such a sweet family and I loved being able to capture the extended family and then more intimate portraits with smaller groups.

P.S. Is it summer yet??? I’m so ready to get back out there on the beach!
