In 2013 I took my sister’s maternity portraits using just a regular camera and editing on PicMonkey. I won’t post them here although in the future I may revisit the images and post the before and after just to show how much my editing style has changed. Fast forward 4 years and I just finished my first maternity session this past Sunday. I’m in love!
Maternity portraits are so precious to me; as a mom I know how beautiful those moments are. I also know how long and painful the journey to motherhood can be.
Thankfully that isn’t something this sweet couple has had to deal with. They were both so easy going…at first you could tell that they felt awkward and unsure what to do but once I explained that it was my first time shooting a maternity session they relaxed. We were all newbies here!
Katelyn and Brandon were so sweet to work with; she was so cute and honestly any pose looked adorable with her little baby bump. Brandon saved the day by grabbing bug spray from their car (I’ve since learned that is a must have for outdoor sessions in the summer). I also think that I’ve finally found my editing style because I absolutely LOVE the bright and airy look these portraits have. This is my favorite session to date. ♥
