High school senior portraits are an important part of a student’s life and are a great way to commemorate their journey into adulthood. Senior portraits are a time to reflect on accomplishments, celebrate the future, and create lasting memories. It’s a time to capture the personality, style, and spirit of each graduating student, and to express who they are at this moment in time. I have noticed that guy high school seniors don’t usually prioritize their senior portraits the way that girls do…but for us boy mamas it is SO important and meaningful! Plus they deserve the spotlight on them just as much!

So this ones for all the Senior guy moms! I’ve had so many more guy senior sessions this year and as a boy mom I am SO happy about that. So if you’re a boy mom save this post for your son’s senior session!
Here are 3 solid looks to bring to your senior session:
- FORMAL: A sharp, well-fitted suit is always a classy way to dress up
your senior session. Want to elevate this option? Select a suit outside of the expected colors of black, gray, or navy. Suits in burgundy, emerald green, or light blue can create a modern look when styled well. - CASUAL: No, this doesn’t mean gym shorts or sweatpants. This is the area for jeans, shorts, and fashionable tees. Keep it modern and fresh by adding some color and layer coordinating tones.
- SOPHISTICATED: This is where dressy meets casual – think of this as an outfit you would wear on a date. Pro tip: layers are the trick with sophisticated outfits – sport coats over button-ups, or a button-up under a sweater, for example.
I completely understand if some of these do not fit with your senior’s style and that is okay! The last thing I would want is for someone to wear something they do not feel confident in. So just take these tips as a guide and see what works best with your senior’s personal style!
Did you know there are only 119 days left until Hillsborough county’s high school graduation ceremony??? If you haven’t booked your senior’s session now is definitely the time to mark that off your to-do list!
