If you’ve recently started planning your senior photo session, it’s perfectly normal to have a few
questions and concerns. In fact, a lot of high school seniors preparing for their photo sessions mostly have the same concerns. Hopefully this helps clear a few things up for you!
Concern 1: When Should I Book My Senior Shoot?
Ideally, you want to book your senior session as soon as possible, particularly if you want to use a
popular photographer. You can have your shoot whenever you want to but if you have a specific season
in mind, the sooner you book, the better. Spring and Fall fill up really quickly!
Concern 2: I Don’t Know What to Wear
You want to look and feel your best so naturally, you will be worried about what to wear for your
session. The number one rule is to wear something you feel comfortable in – it should also be clothing
that fits you well. You don’t need to follow any trends. Rather stick to a timeless outfit. Plus I include a detailed “What to wear” guide in your welcome packet when you book your senior session. Keep in mind when you’re planning what to wear, consider where your shoot is taking place and what the theme is (like urban/cottagecore/boho/whimsical). If there is no theme, let your unique style shine through. And finally, if you want to feel less stressed about this aspect, book your senior session asap so you have time to receive your welcome pack and start planning your outfit as soon as possible!
Concern 3: I Don’t Know What to Do About My Makeup?
This is why I include hair and make up in every senior session! If you don’t wear make up very often you can go with a very natural look, which is both subtle and beautiful. Tell your makeup artist that you want something natural – they will know what you mean. If you want something more glam, I recommend looking through Pinterest for inspiration to show your make up artist. You can check out some pins I’ve saved for high school senior make up inspiration here.
And if anything else is keeping you up at night about your upcoming senior pics, just send me an email or DM and I will be more than happy to help!
